The power of the Student Political Action Coalition rests in your hands. If you are a student passionate about activism that results in real change, consider bring SPAC to your university.

Reach out

If you are interested in bringing SPAC to your university or college, reach out! You can contact us here. We will immediately provide you with resources and information that will help you optimize SPAC for your school. If you're in the northeast, the first SPAC chapter from Lehigh University is more than happy to come meet with you and your SPAC team and provide additional support.

spread the word

Once you've contacted us to let us know you're interested in starting SPAC at your university or college and after you've received more information, your first job is to spread the word about SPAC! Individual chapters are treated as autonomous, and your leadership and membership structure is up to you with a nod of approval from us. We will provide recruitment materials, branding language, and anything else you need.

What kind of students are you looking for?

Activists and non-activists, leaders and followers, scientists and philosophers - SPAC is for any student that believes in the power of their voice. Don't be afraid to connect with other campus clubs, either. Multicultural organizations, Greek organizations, and student life/leadership groups will be able to both help you recruit throughout your school and possibly give you some members of their own.

The moral of the story? There is no such thing as an ideal student activist. Grassroots movements like this depend on diversity of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm. Don't be afraid to connect with any and every student that crosses your path!

Strategic plan

Now that you've got members, it's time to sit down and decide which initiatives you plan to undertake in the coming weeks, months, semester, or calendar year. Lehigh's chapter of SPAC formed in response to mass shootings, so gun violence that wasn't just limited to mass shootings naturally became a focus of ours - however, your chapter of SPAC is not limited to the work done by other chapters. If there's a problem in your community, use the broad support network of SPAC to help you change it. If there's a problem on your campus, SPAC is here for you. If you want SPAC to tackle some of the most pressing social and political issues of our time, go for it. There's nothing stopping you.
